Roger is a small boat sailor and writer. He cruises an unpowered sailing dinghy on coastal passages and writes about his experiences. His book The Dinghy Cruising Companion -. Tales and Advice from Sailing a Small Open Boat. Was published by Bloomsbury in 2014. For many years he wrote a monthly column about dinghy cruising in Dinghy Sailing Magazine and also writes features for Classic Boat, Watercraft and other magazines. He is president of the Dinghy Cruising Association.
